While the crowd giggles at rude remarks, Kim Karr shows an example of the “positive warriors” who put the comments to rest.

Words have power. Words can hurt. You should not use words to make someone feel bad; anti bullying campaigns have become redundant. Assemblies focus on spreading awareness but most of the time it stops there. They highlight the problem and the pain it causes people then leave students to come up with their own solution. This assembly, which was held Monday, Dec.2, was different. The #iCanHelp campaign is one that will not only stop negative comments but spread positive ones.

#iCanHelp is a project spreading from school to school to help stop cyber bullying in all aspects. Simple insults can hurt people and the #iCanHelp hashtag paired with a compliment  is being used to cancel out negativity.
