BEATING THE HEAT

Athletes describe how high temperatures affect practices, games

As temperatures have hit record highs this week, reaching 106 degrees, everyone is finding ways to beat the heat. Even during a normal day, students are found staying in the shade, fanning themselves, and wearing shorter, lighter clothing, but still are sweating through their clothes as the summer gets hotter. Athletes from Fall sports especially are suffering this heat since practices are during the peak of the day’s temperatures, and some have even experienced signs of heat stroke.
