A recent trend on Tiktok has parents using the Elf On The Shelf to make their children do their chores or to simply just prank their kids. In this blog I will show the steps.

Step One: Buy the elf
Go to a local Target, Walmart, Dollar Tree, or Family Dollar. You can find many Elf On The Shelf’s there. Some tend to vary in skin tone, and hair color. Pick whichever you like the best for your child or sibling.

Step Two: Write Notes
It is important to do this step, and get creative with it. For example you can write, “Elf On The Shelf will do a cool trick if you clean up your room.” That tends to motivate kids to do their room. The things in the notes can range.

Step Three: Plan out Punishments
Say your target doesn’t do what the Elf On The Shelf Told them to do. What then? Parents on Tiktok have had their kids waking up with marker drawings on their faces. The Elf draws and pranks the child if they don’t do it. Warning some children have cried over this.

Step Four: Plan out rewards
Make sure you don’t overboard with the punishments. Reward the child well when they do a good job and make it fun. Many parents have gone out of their way to wake up early in the morning to make their child smile. Rewards like; toys, snacks, and going out somewhere are good examples.

That concludes the steps into effectively using the elf on the shelf to make your child, or sibling active around the house being stressed, cry, or laugh. Have fun.
