JULIE NINCIONI: Father inspires basketball desire

The feeling of accomplishment as you score a point for your team is a sensation that Julie Nincioni craves when she is on the court.

Nincioni has played basketball since the 6th grade and has been hooked since. Not only does she enjoy the feeling that comes with being a part of a team, but she also enjoys how it brings her and her father together. “It was the only thing me and my dad could relate to,” Nincioni said.

This year the basketball team has had a change in varsity coaches and Nincioni recognizes the benefits from the change. Especially since this is Nincioni’s senior year she appreciates what the new varsity coach is able to provide for her team before she leaves. “Coach Markley is great, she’s taught our team how to think outside the box and gave us more options to use on the court,” Nincioni said.

As Nincioni is heading toward the end of her time in high school, she is grateful for how her team has come along. “All my teammates get along,” Nincioni says. “I’m glad I get to end my senior year with these girls.”
