Delta Kings and Queens celebrated Spirit Week with a spooky twist this year, filling the halls with color, creativity and Halloween spirit. Each themed day built excitement and school pride leading up to Halloween on Friday, when students dressed up and showed off their festive spirit.

On Monday’s “Paranormal Pajamas,” students traded their usual attire for blankets, slippers and fuzzy robes, turning classrooms into cozy sleepovers. Seniors Charlize Stewart and Katelyn Bryce matched in Hello Kitty pajamas to “show other students that it’s okay to be included and that they don’t have to be shy.”

Tuesday’s “Which Witch Is Which” doubled the fun as friends showed off matching outfits, from coordinating colors to identical shirts. Sophomore Sophia Robles and junior Natalie Martinez said they chose to twin in black since it’s a simple, popular color among students. “Anything simple could be anything cute,” Robles said.

Wednesday’s “Unity Day” brought a more meaningful tone as students wore orange to show solidarity against bullying. The bright color unified the campus in a message of kindness and support. Sophomore Maria Rodriguez Baca joined this year after skipping last year’s event. “This year I wanted to experiment more and have fun,” she said.

“Sweater Weather” Thursday brought cozy fall fashion to campus, with students layering up in warm knits, scarves and blankets. English teacher James Medrano joined his students in embracing the theme. “I love participating in Spirit Week as a teacher when the theme is accessible and I can be involved with the students,” Medrano said.

Spirit Week wrapped up on Friday’s “Fright Fit Friday,” when students came dressed in spooky accessories, makeup and full costumes.
Sophomore Tiago Martinez arrived as a man being carried away by an alien. “I’ve always liked this costume,” he said. “It’s the most hilarious thing ever.”

Several students showcased their creativity through Halloween-inspired makeup looks. Junior Kaliana Colston dressed as Spiky the Clown from Killer Klowns from Outer Space. Junior Mary Ann Abellana appeared as a cracked doll “showing her true colors.” Junior Anita Lee became a stitched-up ribbon doll, while Junior Kornkanok Patchaveraphong transformed into a scarecrow.

Senior Lazeah Buenrostro stood out as a half-porcelain doll, half–La Catrina hybrid. “Dress up for Halloween,” she said. “Don’t let anybody tell you that you can’t. Show up and show out.”

From cozy pajamas to costumes and messages of unity, Stagg High School’s Halloweek captured the spirit of the season; celebrating creativity, inclusivity and Stagg pride.
