A Ro-Sham-Bo competition (also known as Rock Paper Scissors) is planned to take place in May, according to ASB advisor Shannon Markley.
There’s going to be a school-wide Ro-Sham-Bo tournament during the last few weeks of May. Participants will be given a bead necklace at the start, and by beating others in Ro-Sham-Bo, will gain their beads. Whoever has the most beads at the end of each week wins a prize.
Markley was introduced to the new tournament idea after attending a conference, but while other schools would only run the competition for one day, she thought it would be even better to do it for a longer period of time. “I presented it to the ASB class,” Markley said. “They were really excited about it, and we’re just trying to make something a little bit more fun for the end of the year, when we’re kind of all burned out.” She hopes that it will be something for students to look forward to.
The competition will go on for two weeks total, and is planned to be held only within the month of May. A video will be posted by Multimedia on Monday, May 4, explaining how the rules work in a more in depth way.
Lunch-time activities are also planned throughout May, such as volleyball games. “We’re just trying to provide different things so that we can make our last couple weeks of school a little bit more entertaining.”
