Stagg baseball coach Tony Angelo had the honor of being selected to coach the South All star team at the 23rd Annual All-Star Baseball-Softball classic Thursday. The south baseball team went on to lose 9-7.

Angelo wasn’t the only one to stand out during the two All-Star games.

In the bottom of the fifth of the Softball Classic with two on and no outs, recent alumnus Vivian Vasquez slammed the ball over the center-field fence for a three-run home run for the north. Coming from behind, the south went to win 11-10 in the seventh inning. Vasquez also awarded a $500 United Way Scholarship.
