Race to Achieve

Snap! The car lurches forward. It reaches its top speed ripping around the track. The mousetrap car slows down, and after two laps it stops. This was a classroom participating in the Race to Achieve building competition.
After more than four weeks the cars finally started going around the track. The modifications made them go faster and have more control. The cars came in all shapes and sizes all going around the track about 2 times. The finalists from each class went to the grand championship race on thursday.
Julie Backster’s, Kathy Sady’s, and Andrew Walter’s classes had been racing against themselves before the final race. They would commence in front of a substantial crowd of people in the gym on Thursday. The lunch period did not allow most people to see who won. The winning team was Brenda Montoya, Jessica Casillas, and Tosha Monroe.
