Gaming Club held its first tournament

Gaming club held its first school-wide video tournament last Friday after school in A2. The event is a monthly fundraiser where both club members and non-members pay $1 to play. Friday’s event raised $60. “I think it went really well, we had a lot of fun,” club adviser Mary Stoner said. ¨ If this continues we could buy one console and more games.”

Freshman, Makara Chamroeun defeated senior Fernando Martinez, also known as ̈the king ̈ and won the tournament. He received a gift card as a prize.  “I played against ‘snake’ he was really skilled and I haven’t played against a skilled player like this before.”

 Chamroeun stated he had over 200 hundred hours logged on to ̈smash brothers due to the fact he’s been playing since he was 7 years old.¨ I love the game, Chamroeun said  ̈you have to be dedicated.¨
