Julia Khade, Biology teacher, encountered many changes from living in Moscow, Russia to moving to the U.S. at the age of 24. The reason Mrs. Khade moved here to the U.S. was because her husband lives and works here. He was her subsitute teacher at Simferopol State University.
Teaching science helped her since she moved here but, she still doesn’t really talk to anybody but her husband because of her accent. She really likes the culture and the diversity of the people who live here. She claims that the cultural life in Russia is more rich than the U.S.
The food, fashion, healthcare, and education is very different from Russia. Sometimes Khade misses the cultural life in Russia such as the holidays and the snow.“I go and try to visit my family 1 in every 5 years.”
She has experienced new foods since she moved here, “I like Asian and Indian food because it’s spicy,” said Mrs. Khade. She also enjoys eating Japanese food because it’s very healthy, has low fat, and has a fresh taste.
Khade has made new friends and is happy that she moved here. As a teacher, she likes to teach and share the knowledge that she got at the Simferopol State. Her life has changed.
