(REVIEW) “Marvel’s Spider-Man 2” An update that made me want to experience it again

A Big New Update

“Marvel’s Spider-Man 2”, the third installment in the Marvel’s Spider-Man series recently received a major update to the game, including new content, which breathes new life into its veins. The update adds new content to be unlocked that makes the game worth a second look and a second playthrough, how have thoughts changed in the time since the release.

The Big Inclusion

The biggest inclusion in the update was the introduction of New Game+ for finishing the main story of the game, allowing you to replay the game from the start with all of your upgrades and abilities unlocked, such as the symbiote abilities, which lets you devastate the early game and have a whole new experience with the game.

New Suit Styles

Spider-Man swinging through New York like always. Ready to swing around the city for those in need.

However, despite New Game+ being the main draw of the update, there are also certain benefits to experiencing the game for a second time, as the update also offers new styles for the black suit and two other suits unlocked later in the story. However you cannot unlock every suit style from the start, as you need Ultimate levels to unlock these 9 extra styles, which gives you more incentive to replay the game.

What other incentives are there?

Of course these suit styles aren’t the only incentive to continue, as the player can unlock a new golden style for their gadgets and unlock the ability to use suit tech fusion, which allows the player to use all suit tech abilities when normally, some abilities are restricted while using others, this can provide a massive boost to the player, however while being a free update it did come with some paid DLC.

New Suits for Charity

Miles Morales (left) and Peter Parker in their Fresh and Fly suits respectively. The two of them ready to stop Sandman from attacking the city.

Along with the inclusion of the New Game+ update came a brand new DLC pack, the Fly N’ Fresh suit pack, this suit pack includes two new suits for Peter and Miles, 10 photo mode stickers, and two photo mode frames, but for people in the United States that’s not all the DLC offers, as buying the suits will give money to charity throughout the month of March, and ending on April 5th up to $1 Million, after the promotion ends the suits will be given for free.

My Experiences

While I have not unlocked everything, I am confident in saying that my experience with the update so far is amazing, the update for the game made me excited to replay the around 26 hour game again and breathed new life into it with all of the big and little things that were added such as the ability to change the color of your Symbiote abilities and the tweaks made to the Webbed Suit to make it more accurate to the source material, which is why I am confident in saying that the update is amazing.

Of course, Insomniac’s Spider-Man series isn’t finished yet, currently there is the possibility of new DLC for the game, as there is still a lot of story to tell, such as the side missions with The Flame and his followers. There is also the currently upcoming Wolverine game made by Insomniac, which could possibly be tied into the Marvel’s Spider-Man series, however as of right now the future of Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 is uncertain, but for right now one thing is sure, Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 is an amazing game that has received an amazing update that many people asked for.
