Listen to Anee Christine Ente, the president of Cambodian United Students Association, talk about what she has planned for the new and uprising club.
This is Season 1, Episode 5 of Student Spotlight
#1 – What club are you currently running?
E – Cambodian United Students Association.
#2 – What led you to become the president of the club or inspire you to make it?
E – I see a lot of clubs around Stockton. There’s Filipino Club, Vietnamese Club, Chinese Club, and I feel like our culture isn’t represented enough, so I want a space for us.
#3 – As a new club, what is CUSA about? What are you planning to do?
E – What we do is we can learn to read and write in Khmer, we learn how to dance, we can teach each other how to make food, and we help all of our Cambodian communities around Stockton.
#4 – What are some plans you have set for the future of this club?
E – I hope we become really mainstream.
#5 – How do you manage the duties of a president?
E – With my members. Without them, I couldn’t do anything.
#6 – What are some of the expectations you hope to set on your other members?
E – I just hope that they are really dedicated in this club.
#7 – Next year would you continue to be president of this club?
E – Yeah
# 8 – Since you hope to continue in the future, what are some plans you have set for the future of this club?
E – I want Cambodian people to be known everywhere. It’s always more East Asia but never Cambodia.
#9 – Is there any plans for upcoming activities like Trunk or Treat or Club Rush?
E -Yeah, I don’t want to give out too much information but we’re going to have a cardboard cutout of a “monster”.
#10 – Are there any words for those who also want to start their own club?
E – Don’t be afraid.
