This is Season 1, Episode 1 of Student Spotlight. Today, we interviewed Alexis Garcia Cardenas, who is the President of Stagg’s Associated Student Body.
5 Facts from the ASB President
#1. What is the most notable part of your position?
G: I believe the most notable part about my position is that I’m basically the role model for all the kids in my ASB class and basically the role model of the activities that happen at Stagg so I think that would be the most notable part of it.
#2. What are some examples of activities you do in ASB?
G: Some activities that we do is that I’ll host the LTAs on campus. We also host the senior activities as well, and I believe all after school things as well as long as it is with Club Rush and our rallies and anything that is themed for sports, usually ASB plans at all.
#3. Is there any past people of your position that you took notes of or anything you took inspiration from?
G: I would definitely say Adalina Pineda. She was our president for the ‘24-’25 school year, and I think her resilience and how much she was able to bounce back from her setbacks. I’ve always took that into recommendation and as well as how she upheld herself.
#4. And what has inspired you to run for this role?
G: I think what inspired me to run for this role is that I’ve been in leadership for such a long time and just being able to be the voice for the kids here at Stagg really was what pushed me to run for president.
#5. And my last question is, is there any message you’d like to give to people that might be watching this?
G: I would send a message that it’s OK to come out of your shell and that you should definitely come out to events and support our school. I know we have a really bad representation and I hope we can build that up and make it fun for all students around.
