Mr. Valdez is the adviser for Stagg Online. He’s been advising the program for 4 years now. He finds it challenging to give good feedback to all of his writers, but he is really proud when they write something amazing. He likes to play guitar and Rock Band in his spare time.

When asked about hobbies, Valdez expressed his love for playing guitar stating, “I’m a big fan of music, and learning to play a song I love is such a cool feeling, like I’m making the music happen on my own. It’s also a great way to relax, or to channel nervous energy into something productive.”

Although Valdez hasn’t studied the world of journalism he says that learning with the students is important. “I think it’s an important subject in today’s day of misinformation, and I want to show my classes that I’m still willing and interested in learning new things because learning never stops.
