“It started like most interests do, my friend said to do it so I did”
During the fall when water polo needed boys, sophomore Joseph Mallet decided to try out, as per his friends request. “I wasn’t expecting to like it so much,” he said. “After each practice I found myself wanting to improve.”
After the water polo season ended, the water polo coach suggested he should do swim. After all, he was already one of the faster swimmers on the team. “I knew if I did both swim and water polo, I’ll for sure improve.”
Now, Mallet is one of the fastest boys on the swim team. He is on his way to making sections, with a time around 24 seconds for a 50 yard heat.
