CHLOE AULD: Cheer brings sense of confidence
Ever since she started high school, she has been wanting to become more outgoing. Now she is in her second year of cheer, leading her team in the 15-16 season.
“It helped me get out of my shell,” said sophomore Chloe Auld.
Especially being the one to motivate and lead their cheers Auld says it has really helped her be more open with herself and become close with a couple of girls on the team.
“We may look good when we’re performing, but that takes a lot of hard work,” said Auld.
She conditions for multiple hours. On top of that, Auld mentioned that most of the time they have to be their own coaches at practices, and at games. Sometimes when their cheer coaches didn’t show up, they would have to put a routine together in less than two days.
Auld says being apart of the cheer season has given her a sense of team, and what it means to come together.
“I like being a cheerleader, it’s more than just a sport, it’s an escape,” said Auld.
