High school isn’t too hard
Walking into high school, I was nervous and afraid. Not afraid of the people who were there or the environment. I was afraid of the challenges that high school were going to pose for me. Little did I know that I was overestimating these high school challenges.
Time and time again on television and movies, high school is made out to be this super challenging environment that pushes everyone past their limits. The classes are described to be those that only the best can pass. Yet, I find the classes that I take easy to excel in.
In fact, I find that my classmates also pass their classes with ease. How could something so challenging be so easy? The reality of the situation is that television dramatizes everything, and in this case it was high school. There’s no group of excelling students that think they’re better than everyone else, and there’s no subject that stumps a majority of the class.
If I would’ve known this before my high school years flashed before my eyes, I wouldn’t have been so stressed to fear my upperclassmen years. I’ve imagined my senior year to be the hardest, and I’m amazed to realize it’s actually my easiest year.
Overall, in how high school has been dramatized in movies and television, it’s been affected in the way I thought it out to be. I thought of it to be a challenging environment, whereas now I can safely say high school isn’t as hard as it’s made out to be.
