On January 24, 2011, San Joaquin County RTD, the bus station, made changes and discontinued routes. Very few students were informed, others forgot, and some just didn’t like the change. A change in the route messes up people’s schedules, sleep, and getting to class on time. Sometimes, students would be late due to missing the bus or waking up late.
Students today have different ways of getting to school, such as getting a ride, riding a bike, or just walking to school. Those who ride the city bus live about 2.4 miles from school and receive free bus passes. Very few students live far from school and don’t receive free bus passes because they are on a transfer.
I myself have been riding the bus (school and city) since I was young. I have experienced some changes, and interesting events. I even got to meet new and interesting people who ride the bus.
When RTD changed the bus schedule, I was late for school. I had to change the alarm clock to wake up earlier in order to catch the bus on time.
This experience gets students to come to appreciate having their guardian(s) or someone giving them ride to school every day. It also helps students become less dependable on their parents and more independent.
People should learn how to ride the city bus in order if they could get around, even if they don’t have a car or bike and has to go a long distance. People hate waiting for someone to get a ride from and then being disappointed. If you learn how to ride the city bus then you learn patience. There is a better chance of getting where you are going. Still, not everything is perfect, and obstacles can get in the way. We as humans learn how to deal with them.

Wow this is so well written but Ashley let me ask this, how do other students feel about this beside yourself?
I think if you included opinion of teachers and students this would be even better because it affects them all.
