Spring Splash was the Spring version of Club Rush, an event where students buy food from different classes and or clubs sell food to students to either fundraise money for their club or assist academically and financially. This year’s spring splash took place on Mar 1. Students sold food such as Tacos, Jamba Juice, Chinese food, churros, and other goods, here are some of the reviews about the stands and food they received.
Junior, Steven Ruba who bought pizza for three dollars a slice. He states he feels like the food could at least be a dollar less. When asked about how the atmosphere and customer service was, Ruba said,”The customer service was good, everybody was smiling and polite like they enjoyed working at the stand.” When asked about what table he wanted to try he recommended orange chicken and rice from the Asian Student Association.
Junior Brandon Almeraz, bought elote from the Drama Club that was a pretty popular spot, where he described the customer service and food as “peaked,” enjoying the service and admiring the dedication to having a grill to serve to students fresh. Almeraz expressed this table was one of his favorites, understanding the prices for the food saying, “I honestly was just really hungry, and this was fire. I would buy it again, I mean it wasn’t too expensive, paying extra for hot cheetos on top isn’t a big deal since the teacher comes out of pocket.”
Another popular table that a lot of students seemed to enjoy was the Taco stand table run by a Band Assistant, Luis Ramirez. Students shared that the taco stand was a favorite of theirs, and they enjoyed the music being played. The overall atmosphere according to students was a really enjoyable one.
Some students bought other things like cupcakes, chips, and snacks. Two students, Dayanria Hernandez Vargas and Madelyn Martinez bought these snacks explaining that they were not expensive at all and the lines were short, enhancing their positive feedback about these tables.
Overall the club rush was a fun event although it took place in the rain. The students working hard and smiling at customers made this event much more enjoyable. Students appreciated that it was refreshing to see how our school could come together to make events like these, uplifts a lot of the students’ spirits around these halls and gives them something to participate in and look forward to.
