As the 17th movie in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, Thor: Ragnarok is leading the box office in sales. However, that should be of no surprise since every movie in the MCU has led the box office during its releasing weekend. After all, the movie is certified fresh sitting at a 93% according to Rotten Tomatoes.

Being the third entry in the Thor franchise, Thor: Ragnarok once again finds the hero pitting himself against evil. After being kicked out of his homeland Asgard by Hela, the goddess of death, Thor must find his way back. However, he is stuck on the other side of the universe. And even worse, his hammer was destroyed by Hela. His hammer was more than a hammer, it was a symbol of his strength. Without it, Thor is now challenged to find the strength within himself.

Even though his situation may already sound terrible, he was captured when he was sent to the other side of the universe so now he has to find a way to escape. Sadly, the only way is if he wins a gladiator match against the champion. The champion there is his old ally, the Incredible Hulk. Determined, Thor decides to build a team to help him defeat Hela. But will that be enough to conquer her without his hammer?

The movie does a spectacular job at balancing the amount of action and comedy. At the same time, it was also able to include great heartfelt moments. Introducing many new faces, most are loved by the audience. Newcomers Valkyrie and Korg especially were applauded for their performances. Korg was able to bring in snippets of comedy in between almost every scene, while Valkyrie brought the action when it came to the fights.

Upcoming movies in the Marvel Cinematic Universe include Black Panther and Avengers: Infinity War. Black Panther is set to release on February 16th, 2018. Fast forward a few months and Avengers: Infinity War will be releasing on May 4th, 2018. Thor is expected to have a role in Avengers: Infinity War.
