REVIEW: Black Panther Soundtrack
The Black panther movie has been a popular topic floating around on social media for months before it was even advertised on television. The soundtrack also has received a lot of attention, It was just as anticipated as the movie itself because not only does it feature diverse artists from different genres, it was worked on by a world wide rap artist, Kendrick Lamar.
Kendrick Lamar is an 11 time grammy winner who was selected to help create and be featured on four of the songs for the Black Panther soundtrack.
The Opening of the soundtrack which was titled Black Panther was a lyrical high point for rapper Lamar. His demeanor and tone of the lyrics he dispersed where raw with emotion and his delivery was spotless.
Being a Kendrick Lamar fan myself, I knew this was going to be a hit album. It features vocalist such as SZA, Swae Lee, Khalid, Jorja Smith, and more Alternative R&B artists who really had an impact on the music industry in 2017.
Rap Artists who were previously anticipated to collaborate where all featured. They added another element for the soundtrack, it really took the audience through an emotional rollercoaster.
One of the most streamed songs, Paramedic! Is performed by a popular rap group called SOB x RBE and it features Kendrick Lamar. When the collaboration between the artists was announced on social media, it was anticipated to be the best, and it did meet its expectations.
Paramedic has a laid back vibe that leads up to the transition of more aggressive songs such as Kings Dead and Opps.
The album consists of 14 songs which offer different stories, elements, and even melodies to this impressive soundtrack. Over all, the flow and the sequence of the album was perfectly placed in a way that complemented the movie.
