Legend’s newest warms the heart

Legend's newest warms the heart

When I turn on the radio in the morning, I hear a variety of artists and songs. But somehow, it all sounds the same. The same beats. The same meaning. Almost the same lyrics.

That all changed when John Legend’s album “Love in the Future,” was released back in August.

The album has a heartwarming feel, and is wonderfully mixed with rap, soul, and R&B. When I bought the CD, I was surprised that the first track was an intro.

But when track two comes on, and Legend serenades with, “last night was the last night you’ll ever spend alone,” it feels and sounds exactly like him. It is perfectly crafted for his voice and his overall sound.

This album was well worth the wait.

Legend worked with many celebrities, like Sara Bareilles, Kanye West, and Joe Jonas.

What really makes the album stand out, though, is one of the longer songs. “All of Me,” is four minutes of pure talent.

You can really feel the confusion in his lyrics, but at the same time, he doesn’t care, because he’s in love.

When the chorus hits, and Legend sings “love your curves and all your edges, all your perfect imperfections,” one can see that it is an amazing love ballad.

All around, this album is especially wonderful to listen to when one is in need of a handful of love songs, and a mix of sweet lyrics.
