Fortnite Taking Over
Since its release in July of 2017, Epic Games’ “Fortnite” has gradually taken the world by storm. With millions of players worldwide, Fortnite has become one of the most popular games among kids, teens, and even adults.
Fortnite is free to play and is currently available for Playstation, XBOX, and PC gamers, however, the Battle Royale game will soon be coming to iOS as well. On Monday March 12, Epic Games allowed gamers to sign up to play the iOS version of the 100 player game.
Though it may seem like it’s only a video game, hundreds of players play the game competitively in tournaments for cash prizes and are able to make a living for themselves by streaming their gameplay on the internet. There are even professional eSports teams such as TSM, Luminosity, and FaZe who are gathering legions of fans that watch them play the Battle Royale game religiously.
I play Fortnite on multiple platforms and it’s really a fantastic game. It allows you to connect and bond with friends while trying to defeat up to 100 opposing players. I see this game as one of the best of our generation. No other video game has the ability to bring so many people together to achieve a common goal.
As much fun as it may be, however, it is so easy to become addicted to this game. I find myself spending more time playing Fortnite than doing just about anything else during my day.
After playing for what feels like 20 minutes, you will find yourself looking at the clock wondering how on Earth two hours passed by so quickly. Never before have I played a game that is so good at distracting me from life’s responsibilities.
Regardless of what it may distract you from, it’s a perfectly healthy form of entertainment for all ages and I encourage you to give it a try. All it takes is download time and some friends to try to claim that “Victory Royale” with.
Fortnite has become a truly relevant topic in today’s society and it’s a game that will only grow more popular as time goes on.
