Ariana Grande’s ‘thank u, next’ music video No.1 on charts
Two weeks after the music video release and Ariana Grande’s hit single ‘thank u, next’ is still streaming No. 1 on Youtube and Billboard’s “Hot 100.”
The pop star dropped this single over a month ago and it instantly blew up. Following the passing of her ex boyfriend Mac Miller, Grande pays tribute within her song. From the catchy beat to the iconic tributes to popular movies starring influential women, her music video has over 171 million views.
Shortly after its premiere on Friday afternoon, it broke the record for most Vevo views (55.4 million) in 24 hours.
Her song returned to No. 1 on the charts on “Hot 100” with the biggest streaming week ever for a woman. The song reigns in large part due to its 93.8 million U.S. streams in the week ending Dec. 6, according to Nielsen Music, the biggest weekly total ever for a song by a female artist.
The hot single tops the charts as No. 1 for the fifth week in a row.
