Is it Friday? No its game day. Walking the halls of Stagg High School on a Friday is a lot different than walking around on any other day of the week. Why is that? Simply because it’s Friday Football! On Fridays all high schools prepare for game day in their own special way. At Stagg you will find a ton of spirit throughout our campus and don’t be surprised if there’s a lot more than one person wearing Gold and Brown! In the classrooms, throughout the halls, in the lunch line I guarantee you that you will see Stagg Cheerleaders and Football players showing their school spirit by wearing his or her uniform. Students make personalized shirts for the games and even make signs to help cheer on and support their team. I noticed that some people, girls to be exact, even made shirts that said “Delta Queens” and I thought that was a great idea to show their creativeness. Yes, by the looks of all the spirit and support that goes on just during the school day, I’m certain that all students are proud to be a Delta King.

 After a long day of school, students come back to campus but not to go to their classes and work, their back to support their football team. Around 7:15 the varsity game against St. Mary’s that many anxious students, staff, teachers, and parents were waiting for, finally started. The crowd was getting pumped, and the cheerleaders were waving around their pompoms. During the whole game people were screaming for their home team and the crowd went wild and got louder when we got close to the in zone! I think our defense did a great job blocking St. Mary’s and taking them down. St Mary’s has one of the best football teams but they didn’t take their win easily, they had to fight for it.  Even though we lost that night, Stagg Delta Kings held their heads up high. I think Stagg has a lot of Great Spirit and know how to support their team weather we win or lose.
