Life as a Football Player

Sophomore Eduardo Padilla, fifteen year old offensive right and defensive tackle, says that playing for Stagg High School’s junior varsity team is no joke. He and his team have overcome a lot from losing players, having numerous injuries, and broken bones. His most horrific obstacle was overcoming his broken thumb. After he recovered, Padilla felt so happy to be on the field again with his fellow team mates.

Padilla, number 77, states that, “People who inspire me the most are Marcus Oliver and Andres Flores. The people who I look up to on the higher level on the varsity team are Ralph Enriquez and James Ortega.”

Padilla said that his favorite thing about the stadium is being in the spot light on the bedazzled new turf because it feels so comfortable compared to a regular grass field. He quotes, “The field has encouraged me to go hard and have more expectations.”

When it’s game time, Padilla listens to his favorite song “Like a G6” by Far East Movement. He also gets encouraged by watching his favorite NFL team, the Oakland Raiders.
