For most, starting a sport as a junior can be intimidating. But for Isaac Gonzalez, track and field came as a natural gift to him. Even before the season began, Gonzalez was overflowing with confidence towards excelling in track and field.

This confidence wasn’t from nowhere though, Gonzalez took time to practice daily, even going as far as buying his own disk, and taking trips to delta college to practice there on his own time. He watched videos on throwing on youtube as often as he could. His friend Joe suggested that he should join the sport, and he did without a second thought. Gonzalez said, “I wish I joined sooner, I would be a lot better than I am now.”

Gonzalez was already in great shape for his throwing form, but once he cleaned up his technique he become unbelievable. He currently has a personal record of 109 feet.

He strives to get first in SJAA and wants to try and make it to state. Gonzalez said, “If you want to meet your expectation, you have to put in your dedication.”
