Motionless in White CD Review

Motionless in White CD Review

This band hit me by complete surprise. Having not heard of them until recently, I came across their song “Abigail”. For curiosity’s sake, I had a listen. Saying it was good or amazing was an understatement. The band brings new style and taste to a dry genre, and gives fans of metal aching for a new sound something to talk about.

The band formed in 2006 and is currently signed to Fearless Records. Their genre is metal core [extreme metal and hardcore punk combined] and they have three releases, Creatures being their latest.

Creatures are a fast paced album with plenty of turns. Every detail was carefully crafted; the singing is perfect, the screams are awesome, the instruments are awesome. Although, as to be expected with metal core, there are times when it may sound repetitive to the average fan. Once you dive down deeper, you will see the differences between each song, riff, and scream. Another element this band has that a lot of metal core bands don’t is its use of electonica. A lot of bands today use it, but they go for that dancing-club sound. Motionless in White goes for a creepy, dark sound to go with the album theme, which is horror. The sound really makes the album stand out and sound wicked and sinister.

“Abigail” stands out as the best track from the album. The music and the riffs were crafted to perfection, while the vocals and screams accompany that perfection and create a gem of a song.
Fans of Attack Attack! The Devil Wears Prada, and The Word Alive will eat this one up. Newcomers to the genre will definitely love this one too. If you think the metal core scene is too generic as it is, still, give it a shot. Regardless, don’t let this album pass you up.
